On 23 January 2018, an overview of the STOC free project was presented to the Animal Health and Welfare (AHAW) Panel of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). The project is particularly relevant to the AHAW Panel, which has both past and current focus on output-based standards, including the concept of ‘freedom from disease’. The Panel also received considered BVD in the context of disease listing in the new European Animal Health Law.
